Is it possible to “trigger” (and stop) vst drums from a specific note on the fretboard?

You can easily play drums on your fretboard in different manners, depending on the type of vst plugin…
1/ start/stop a drums sample : you might affect a midi note number to start function (corresponding to the note played on fretboard), same way for stop function.
But it is easier using the sustain midi machine function: a foot controller can start and stop your drums.
2/ If you want to play each drum instrument separately, like a drummer, load a sample player as instrument, using the midi learn function to associate the selected sample to the note played on the fretboard. If no midi learn function, see the plugin’s midi implementation chart.
