No brightness info in MIDI data

Hey,

I was trying to use the “Palm Mute Dynamics” plugin and noticed that it didn’t seem to work, the controller would always output “0”. Then I went into the MIDI Machines and logged some of the incoming notes. It seems there is no harmonics or brightness info at all?

Heres some of the notes info:

The brightness and harmonic data where not really used or tested during the beta stage, so it might be that they are not working at all, that is correct.
The aftertouch info is patchable, please see our demo script for that.

Yes, Aftertouch is working. That just reflects the level of the signal if I’m not mistaken though?

yes, velocity reflects the starting velocity (it doesnt change during the note)
Aftertouch describes the momentaneous velocity.

Okay, so there’s no other “live” expression parameter derived from the actual guitar playing then.

like said: nobody was checking on it, only aftertouch is available so far.
But I hope it gives enough creative room for you for now.

Okay, thanks. I am also only diving into using more options with this fantastic software. The core is simply amazing, the app and plugin are still a bit rough around the edges (e.g. this issue or controlling parameters of the AU plugin version which is a bit buggy). But I have been playing guitar to MIDI systems since the early nineties and this is certainly a game changer. Keep up the great work!
