Stage Optimized Computer? Discussion

@foggle622 I had an Asus T100 with same CPU type as Azulle A-1166, but it was not powerful enough to run properly MG2 or other audio softwares (which would you prefer: lantency or crackling? :rage:) .
Microsoft Surface with a fast cpu may do the job… at high price (IMHO).

I own an ASUS laptop (Intel i7-7500 CPU@2.7Ghz) RAM 16Go.
I plan to buy a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 3rd generation USB C to replace my old USB Presonus Audiobox sound card.
Should we expect for better performances (latency or absence of crackles)?

The latency caused by the interface hardware is much smaller than the latency that the audio to midi process takes. So a faster interface will not make that much a difference. It might “feel” a bit tighter at the same buffersetting compared to the old interface, but that is about it.
Crackles occur when your CPU is overloading. this happens when you’re buffersetting is too optimistic or your computer is to weak to stem the synths and fx you are using. Again this isn’t really affected by the interface you use.
