I am a professional guitar builder and an amateur musician. I build guitars that aim to extend the vocabulary of the player, and I look for tools to do the same. I have been using Cubase since the Atari ST days as well as MIDI conversion since a long time. I purchased JamOrigin MIDI Guitar in the Beta days, I own lots of VST’s. I’m not looking for a way to play trumpet or violin on my guitar, but to create unique sounds mixing acoustic & electric guitar with out-of-this-world sounds. I love the sound of sympathetic strings on Indian instruments, and I love playing slide guitar. I think that MIDI Guitar has only scratched the surface of what is possible. We should forget about notes and chords, and think in polyphonic pitch. I hope and believe this is also the direction MIDI Guitar is moving in.
