Recently I bought amalgamaudio Fender Twin reissue NAM profiles pack as you can tell from other posts.
I have used Gateway Plugin not the native NAM implementation as the Amalgamaudio is an A2 NAM pack. You’ll find attached patch. (WARNING : you don’t have to buy the Amalgamaudio pack, you can use any free profile on Tone3000!)
What the miracle is all about? Well, the same plugin, same NAM profile settings when played via MG3 sounds less harsh and cleaner than NAM A2 plugin into Ableton Live 12. So in a certain way the input section of MG3 is more natural and clean and requires less adjustments. In any case the result with MG3 is better. It seems that Ableton Live input chain opens to harsher sound so this raises a question : Is NAM sounding the same in various platforms? The obvious answer is no. You have to adjust NAM input and EQ. I am not an audio programmer but I guess it might be linked to some ‘preamp’ chain that is different in Live and MG3. So another praise to @JamO excellent work.
