I’m a bass player who’s been using mg3 because I like the polyphonic option. Are there any plans to modernize mb? The only thing I don’t like about mg3 is losing the lower octave of the bass.
MIDI Bass 3 (inside the MIDI Guitar 3 application/plugin) can be set to duophonic.
Fast tracking of bass notes is difficult, especially if more than one note is sounding.
I expect next update to include a new midi bass, but please don’t expect wonders.
It’s difficult to quickly identify low notes, especially when multiple notes are sounding at the same time.
@JamO Yes, it’s difficult, but not impossible.
The focus of the updates has clearly been on the MG3 and MG3 HEX, which is what most people here expected.
So I don’t expect any miracles for the bass in the next update, but I do for the next major update after that.
The lower bass strings B0, E1 and A1 are particularly difficult in polyphonic mode. The higher bass strings D2, G2, and C3, etc., are easier to detect because they resemble those on a guitar.
It requires significantly different detection strategies than MG3, which still need to be further developed. I will make more suggestions on this in due course.
