Audio tracks

I am using logic 10.4 and wanted to ask if I need to repeat for every track the same procedure when I record midi tracks. From instructions on website I create an audio track and select fx as midi2. Then open a new software track and once select the instrument (eg say bass or horns) can then record a track. So the question. If I create several more tracks do i need to repeat the above each time in effect creating an audio track linked to midi2 and then the software track I choose. Ie two tracks each time. Is there a better way to do or combine these together to avoid 2 tracks for every vst track I want.

you just create a new instrument track and keep the first MG audio track for making the midi
