Blue Cat Patchwork: Issue authorizing MG3

I’m using MG3 inside Blue Cat PatchWork. Functionally it works amazing, but MG3 won’t authorize my license when hosted in the wrapper. It repeatedly asks for my email and license code and never completes activation. The plugin authorizes and works normally when loaded directly in the DAW. I’m specifically trying to use it inside PatchWork. Has anyone run into this or found a fix?

Haven’t had any authorization issues. Are you on macOS or Windows?

I’ve had occasional issues with MG3 in Blue Cat Audio’s PatchWork. IIRC, the big thing was that I couldn’t get the AUv2 to work at all. VST2/3 worked fine, however. Obviously, I’m on macOS.

Please try to authorize with the MG3 standalone app and then the plugin should also be authorized.

@Vaultnaemsae I am in Mac Sequoia. The only instance that can detect an input (6 HEX channels) is VST3. AU doesnt allow the GUI to load because “daw isnt sending any audio to MG3“. The VST version opens the GUI but doesn’t pickup any audio.

@JamO I tried but when I opened the Standalone it was authorized properly. The issue is only in bluecat patchworks, as far as I know. It does open fine, without pop ups, but after a minute or so it times out and asks for authorization.

I wonder maybe Blue Cat PW open plugins in a sandbox/container… in that case maybe MG3 doesn’t have access to its actual data folder, but some containerized version of it and then MG3 can’t read the information from your authentication.

I just added a way to detect this to be applied in the next update.
