Nevermind. App was downloaded in 2014 - never opened until now. Apparently it was never purchased - oops my bad! I thought I had purchased the app, since it was downloaded and in the applications folder. Does make me wonder how I ended up with the app. Usually you have to buy to download?
Same happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I ended up buying, getting the license and applying it to the demo version to “unlock” it. Works fine! I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time.
Our demo is a standalone app without the plugins. So yes: it installs like an app.
The functionality is limited, and it is ofcourse an invitation to buy.
