A good midi guitar setup was never cheap.
I had a Jamstik (tracking sucks), Roland system (not very good with VSTi), a $2000 Zitar (looks like a guitar but feels like a keyboard) and I still own a TriplePlay (good but not great, tracking is limited) but I don’t want any of those… I want the MG3 HEX… and coming from a $2000 Zitar, the HEX feels like a bargain.
That being said, if I was very limited on cash I would choose the MG3 (not the HEX version), it works really great, the only limitation is on complex chordal play.
I fully agree with you @ElectroFuzz! Personally I find the TriplePlay PU and GUI useless. That purchase was wasted money for me. I couldn’t get it tracking just half as good as all the Roland and Boss devices do. But nothing I have here is topping MG3Hex in terms of response, accuracy, dynamics and “feel good” playing mood!
