sweet! the expression pedals really allow you to shape the sound. the mix of clean guitar with synth on top is very tasty.
do you find you have any issues with bringing the pedal in? ie: if the pedal starts from zero and you’re controlling pressure, there will be a momentary drop before the pedal position matches the pressure control.
i didn’t hear anything like that in the video, so maybe i’m overthinking things.
No issues here but I want to point out several things:
IMHO Roli Equator2 is a match made in heaven for MG3. (with the 3 macros and the X/Y control you can shape the sound as you wish… just hook up a controller)
The right pedal here is NOT a mixer. it’s hooked up to the MIN of the PRESSURE allowing me to do swells after a note was picked. (very helpful with a lot of things)
The left pedal is hooked up to a Roli Macro (brings in distortion)
I use two “Lehle dual expression” pedals, very precise where you can reach any of the 0-127 range unlike the pedals with potentiometers that tend to jump in increments of 5.
Last but not least and I suggested this before, I hope we will see a CC utility in MG3 where you can click on a CC and adjust it’s response curve. (I don’t need this with Equator2 but I do use a 3rd party software to achieve this with other VSTs).
Have you tried Pigments? I used to use Equator2 but I’ve been liking Pigments these days
I don’t really like synthesizers, I only use those that are based on Acoustic Instruments and Equator 2 has more then others. Second place way behind Equator is Phase Plant, I do love some of the classic DX7 presets so I use the free Dexed for that. I own Omnisphere but I never use it.
The thing with Equator 2 is the advanced ability to change the tone by hooking up a pedal or two.
I didn’t find any other synth that does that to the same extent (Phase Plant has some of those capabilities but not as extensive as Equator)
I will post more examples that demonstrate this.
Just tried Dexed and it’s great, thanks for the rec.
i love the slide rhodes thing, very nice.
Dexed dexed dexed (bass and drums are not MG3, but everything else is)
This really struck something with me. Beautiful.
Uncanny guitar in a way that couldn’t be played on a seaboard.
Thank you for posting.

Sorry playing all over the place, I wanted to showcase swells, overtones, vibrato, growl and dynamics.
Thank you so much for these videos. That growling really works!
It’s very inspiring for me.
All the thanks go to you.
I want you to know that the MUTE OPEN STRINGS tool was used on this clip.
For my needs MG3 is ready, I only have one wish left, a midi CC input tool that will allow me to change CC numbers and to change CC response curves.
