Hi, I’m getting constant double notes when trying to record MIDI Guitar 3 data into Pro Tools on Mac. Everything is set pretty standard, I’m on bridge pickup, monophonic, and have very low latency - but as you can see from the screenshots I’m getting a ton of unwanted doubles coming through. Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks!
That does look strange, actually. Your screenshots suggest that when you lift your fingers another note is triggered until the new note is played. You can check with a MIDI monitor if releasing the fret creates a new “note on” event.
Have you tried reducing the input gain and/or using “MIDI 1.0 Legacy” instead of MPE?
Hey, thanks for replying. You’re correct that’s exactly what’s happening - I can feel it happen quite obviously in real time when playing (not every time but most times as you can see). I’ve tried switching midi modes and reducing input gain, the gate, the strike settings etc. Also happens in MG2.
i might be imagining things but i kind of remember something like this when experimenting with very low latency settings.
also - does this behavior occur outside of protools? (ie: mg3 standalone)
Hey, thanks for replying. Yes it’s happening in MG3 standalone, I can hear it simply playing a single note and then there’s an double right as my finger lifts. I’ve tried low latency at 64buffer as well as 128. Really no idea what’s happening but it’s effectively a tremolo-pick effect, which while kind of cool is not ideal ![]()
it might help if you post an audio snippet of the raw guitar.
