Controlling mix via foot controller (but not to extremes)

Hi.

In MG3, I would like to be able to control a mix cross-fade via expression pedal. IOW, when I move the pedal, I want to fade down one module and fade up another.

I can make this happen, but the fade-out is always to complete silence, which is not the goal. Instead I want the max fade-out to be to a low, non-zero, chosen level. Similarly, I would ideally want the max fade-in to be to a high, non-127 max level.

Put another way, I’d like to limit the extremes of the curves to specific values (e.g. 20, and 112).

Is this currently possible? If so, I’d appreciate a tip on how to do it. If not, I think adding this ability to the curve definitions would be very helpful in crafting pedal-controlled patches.

Thanks.

Can you program lower and upper values into your expression pedal ? I use an FCB 1010 expression pedal and can program cc number and upper and lower limits.

when assigning a midi cc input to a control, there is a curve window.

it can be difficult to grab the top or bottom boundary.

what you want will probably look like this:

That picture is exactly what I want, but have not yet been able to achieve. Thanks.

Do I grab the top/bottom boundaries via the big white dot, or on the horizontal boundary lines?

hover over the horizontal line, the white dot will appear, then click and drag.

it seems better to stay away from the white dot for the limit adjustment.

Thanks, that was helpful and I have finally succeeded!

I’ll comment here, and also in Feature Requests, that I think being able to save and load curve definitions would be a very helpful addition to MG3.

@Progster What approach/setup did you use in MG3 to achieve such a cross-fade?
