Cubase 14 monitoring issues

Hi I’ve just got the Midi Guitar and have rigged up an Audio track and an instrument track for a VST instrument . When I add the Midi guitar 2 as an insert , it disables the audio input of the guitar. Please could you tell more how to set it up so I can hear both the guitar and the instrument track. The monitor is on.

thank you

What exactly are you trying to do? Using MG2 as insert with a VST hosted inside MG2? Using MG2 as MIDI output for a instrument track? Can you make a screenshot of the MG2 plugin?
I’m not fully understanding what you are after. In any case you could just add a second audio track using the same input as for the track with the MG2 insert.

Hi
I am trying to trigger a VST piano but also her the audio of the guitar as well. When I add midi guitar 2 as an insert it disables the audio of the guitar.
Please see picture and please advise. Also, it is not triggering all the notes unless I play them very hard. Is there a way of increasing the sensitivity?

If you don’t select anything under “Guitar” you will not hear the dry signal anymore after inserting MG2. Select some amp or FX there. The gain knob allows some adjustments of the input gain, but you can also increase that by the channel strip in cubase.

Thanks for responding but I’m sorry I’m not sure what you mean (“if you don’t select anything under guitar”). What do I put in where please? I changed the amp fx to direct as in your picture but all it did was to put a huge sustain on the piano vst sound and it multiplied a single note to many notes and still cut out the original guitar audio. I want to have the guitar output and the vst sound playing at the same time. At the moment all I hear is the VST sound which will only play if you play very slowly and cuts out every other note if you play at any speed.

This is the case, at least when I try it. If “Deep FX” and/or “AMP/FX” states “none” no guitar sound is processed but just the midi output to your piano VST track.
What you select there should not have any effect on the VST track as you experience.
What audio interface are you using and how high is the incoming level into cubase?
