Curves and Connections

Hi.

Currently in MG3, we can drag-to-connect any of the 9 CC knobs to more than one destination. This is good, but the existing limitation is that the same curve is applied in every case.

Sometimes this is desired, but sometimes one would want an inverted curve for one or more of the connections. (Or perhaps just a different curve, not inverted, but still the same CC, as from a foot pedal, driving it).

Currently, we would have to use a different one of the 9 CC knobs to obtain different curves going out. This can use up all of the CC knobs pretty quickly.

How about making curves be properties of the - connections - (i.e. the connecting lines), so that just one CC knob could drive multiple ouput locations with different curves as desired?

An alternative would be to allow that bank of 9 CC knobs to actually be 2, 3, or 4 banks.

Either approach would have the goal of allowing a larger number of CC modulation connections before maxing out and reaching the end.

Although this isn’t fully what you are looking for but there is the “MIDI Device” module which has 3 ports and you can add more than one per chain.

Thanks for pointing out MIDI Device! Certainly it will be useful in various situations.

It seems that curves cannot be applied to the CC knobs in MIDI Device. Is that the case?

Why not use the Modulators? You can Invert, shape with ADSR, or use wobble for movement. Coneect everything to one controller if you like, And SAVE shapes to the patch.
