Hello friends, wanted to say thank you for all the help, I managed to get MG3 up and running!
Was wondering if, and sorry if this is a poor topic, there is some database on here to find patches possibly user submitted or whatever.
One thing that really sold me was Johnathan Kreisberg’s demo of it:
Would LOVE this sound, I’m sure this is something he’s tweaked around with but, still I figured some user-submitted database for patches has to be somewhere on this site, I just can’t find it.
Why don’t you reach out to him on social
media and ask him for preset details? He’s using MG2 and (I’m guessing) probably a soft synth emulation of an Oberheim synth, since he’s getting that Holdsworth SynthAxe-period sound…reminder that the SynthAxe was a controller and not a tone module.
there isn’t a dedicated patch sharing page, although some users have posted patches. it can get tricky with paid/free synths, different platforms, software versions.
surge xt has some oberheim-ish presets, and it is free. type ‘ob’ into the search field. and have a look at the linnstrument mpe presets.
also go through the jamo included synths, it’s difficult to navigate but there are dozens of patches in there.
now that you have it all working up top your feet will probably be wanting some pedals (synth volume, efx level, sustain, delay feedback/drywet, etc).
amazon has some exp pedal to usb midi control options, a few users here have provided positive feedback on audiofront. an inexpensive diy arduino solution can be built to run opendeck.
@Jibexi, a database for patches, sorted by operating systems and the applications of MidiGuitar3/MidiBass3/MidiVionlin/Cello would be very welcome, especially with free or inexpensive plug-ins also for people who have little money.
However, @JamO was the first to set up a new category, called PATCH SHARE, where little content has been posted so far.
