Does anyone here use MG3 for general Audio-MIDI?

Hi folks, I’m new to MG3. I’m also very grateful to the devs & community that I’ve discovered here.

I had been looking for something like this for a very long time & the closest I’d got was Dubler3 by Vochlea, but found it less than ideal.

I was curious if this incredible software is being used unconventionally? Eg With other live audio to MIDI…

This comes more out of curiosity than any specific question & look forward to exploring MG3 more with you all.

Well, not Live audio for me normally, but recorded solo sessions is a great place to start:

@LoFiLeiF First up, thank you for all your generously thorough YT videos. Like many here, they led me to MG3.

This specific video you shared just opened up my mind up to playing with mirrored, harmonized & revoiced signals in a sample based performance.

I’ll try it for straight up transportation in Ableton too, as their algorithms for audio-MIDI conversions are not always amazing. At least not in the way I’m using it.

Thanks again!

if you’re intending to work with vocals i spent 2-3 hours with a vocalist and mg3 without much success.

she has great chops, especially re: pitch control. mg3 was all over the place, wrong notes, fluctuating notes, missed notes. we tried a variety of sounds (ie: oohs, aahs…).

please don’t let me discourage you from trying. but if vox is your intended source it is tricky.

@kimyo I’m not discouraged but I am sorry it wasn’t a more fruitful experience for you. It is great that you were trying something different!

I am curious about pushing the software with unusual input on an experimental level. So I’m almost looking for unexpected results.

I will have to learn how to use it properly before I can do that though.

Thanks so much for your reply.
