Hey! Using the latest beta on windows 10, with a roland fantom-06. I have midi output in chain 1 and set to fantom 06/07/08. But when i turn on chain 1, and either play a keyboard key or strum my guitar, it just triggers infinitely sustained and randomly activating fantom-06 tones (the lights in midijam 3 are going bonkers (i dont have a sustainer module set in midijam 3), and i can strum or play keyboard and hear clean guitar or the fantom-06 tones, in background behind the wall of sustained synth sounds. I have tried all of the level adjustments in midijam and nothing changes. But other times i can set the gate to high like 100 or something and it stops the random not playing and jumping around (sometimes) , but it ignores my fantom-06 selected tone and just plays piano or some odd basic synth noise that i think has nothing to do with fantom-06 as i strum guitar (but barely plays/tracks), but fantom-06 ketboard plays correct tone and plays/tracks fine.
But i can get the guitar to play the cprrect fantom-06 tone of i set midi output modul to midi 1.0 legacy.. however the guitar notes just jump allover the place very fast too. And a lot of times when it sustains a random not thru the chaos, it sustains even tho i close the programs and have to turn off fantom-06 to stop it. Local switch in fantom-06 sound settings does nothing.
it just triggers infinitely sustained and randomly activating fantom-06 tones
this could be a midi routing issue, or an mpe setting mismatch.
are you using usb midi only? are you running mg3 inside a daw (if so, which one)?
some screenprints may help here.
if the fantom support mpe make sure both it and mg3 are set that way. if not midi 1.0 is your only choice.
adjusting the gate should not be necessary to fix this problem.
do you mean a key on the fantom? if so, a midi routing issue is more likely.

[/quote] - meaning when i add the midi out module and select fantom-06 and turn it on, all it takes for the chaos to start is either pressing a keyboard key or striking the guitar once., and after that, i can play on the keyboard fine as the chaos continues, and i can strum a clean guitar sound or ithink it’s just that weird generic synth tone) as the chaos continues.. but if i switch it to midi legacy 1 i can play the correct fantom-06 tones on the guitar but its jist super chaotic fast and not tracking well.
Google says fantom-06 does not natively support mpe, so i need to change midijam 3 to legacy midi 1, which i do in the module, and that allows to play correct fantom-06 sounds, but the crazy notes keep playing and jumping around and flashing. It might be a pitch bend range mismatch google says, but, i don’t hear any pitch bending. I’ll have to test tomorrow.
do you have any effects in your chain before the signal hits mg3?
start with your bridge pickup only, and tone all the way up. check your intonation.
is it mg3 that is flashing or something else?
which audio interface are you using?
matching the mg3 pitchbend to the fantom is important. the pitchbend range on the fantom probably varies per preset, so what works on one preset may not work on another.
I just tried it with my Juno D-88 without having problems. It always played what I selected on the keyboard (no jumping/flashing or any other of your findings). Important is that you set the MIDI output module to MIDI 1.0 Legacy, that the “Remote Keyboard Switch” is turned on in the Fantom’s system settings and matching the channel you are sending the MIDI data. The pitch bend range can vary from preset to preset (Juno / don’t know about the Fantom), that makes it a bit cumbersome.
According to the manual the Fantom has the option to filter out unwanted MIDI messages (MENU > ZONE EDIT > MIDI Rx Filter). Check with a free MIDI monitor tool what exactly is sent and what you might filter out?
