Firstly I now have MG2 running nicely thanks to all here for your help.
I now have the dreaded FCB 1010 foot controller and as a novice in all things midi, I need some help in trying to get it connected.
I am using a focurite solo which has no midi input so using a midi to usb cable into my windows laptop.
The usb flashes when I play the guitar so seems to be recognising something. I think I just need to know how to get MG2 to connect with the controller and then start learning how to store patches…many thanks in advance.
this is a guide to programming the fcb-1010:

my memory may be faulty (it’s been 10 years since i had an fcb1010 under my feet) but i think it didn’t ship with the momentary pedals assigned to cc’s, or that for some other reason it wasn’t working with my setup.
perhaps the best way to determine how yours is configured is to use a midi analyzer. lofileif recommended one in another thread.
it is not complicated to program but it requires a great deal of patience.
if the momentary pedals are transmitting notes then they will have to be changed to send cc instead. if you want patch up/down i believe those require cc13 and cc14 in mg3.
also - some usb midi cables can be wonky, just an fyi.
Anyone here offer there services to novices as I am completely stumped with all this midi…Ness
I have the FCB 1010 onto focusrite 214. Midi guitar works great with the interface, I just need to be able to change my stored patches with the FCB 1010 and use one of the expression pedals as a volume pedal…
Sorry to ask again be we are dealing with a non- midi person here
If it’s too cumbersome to program the FCB1010 via the pushbuttons I recommend that you download the Mountain Utilities FCB1010 Manager 2.2.4. You need to establish a MIDI in and out connection (2 cables required) via your Focusrite interface or with any other MIDI interface. With this little program you can easy define CC numbers and values for each button and upload it to the FCB1010. It comes with a help file.
I made a configuration file according your desired scenario:
Button 1 = CC14 = Previous Patch
Button 2 = CC15 = Next Patch
Expression Pedal A = CC11 = to be used as you like e.g. volume
Expression Pedal B = CC12 = to be used as you want)
I can send you the file since I can’t upload it here.
Then you can set-up MG3 like that (just use your Focusrite interface as MIDI controller instead of my Steinberg)
You can program the other buttons of the FCB1010 as well with other CC numbers in order to switch more things in MG3.
This is how the file looks like in the Mountain Utilities Editor:
After I sent you the file you can upload it to your FCB1010 via the editor (open and upload).
EDIT:
You should be able to grab the files here:
In bank number 00 it will send what I described above plus:
Button 3 = CC1 in toggle mode
Button 4 = CC2 in toggle mode
Button 5 = CC3 in toggle mode
Button 6 = CC4 in toggle mode
Button 7 = CC5 in toggle mode
Button 8 = CC6 in toggle mode
Button 9 = CC7 in toggle mode
Button 10 = CC8 in toggle mode
The FCB1010 will be configured like this:
Wow, brilliant thank you so much
