Fretboard/note name visualisation

Randomly discovered Jamstik Creator 1_54 Win software and tried it.

The first thing I noticed is that it detected C2 ( the low E string is tuned down)
The Guitar fret board is something that would be nice to see in MG3, especially if it would show the note name.
is there a MG3 roadmap for features?
~ Thanks

Hi @Sadicus, I see 6 categories of functions in a roadmap:

  1. improvement of the recognition of guitar/bass audio signals
  2. recognition of other audio events, e.g. a voice
  3. recognising further details of live playing, e.g. dead notes, scratching
  4. realisation 1.) …4.) into corresponding MIDI functions
  5. new audio/midi manipulation functions
  6. realisation of important feature requests

But only @JamO can answer these questions, if at all

Fretboard is a good idea. I put it on the todo lost.

There is already a “Chord Name” module in “Tools”.

Anything tracking related is always the most important for me. But it’s a frontier technology and unknown territory, so no promises.

In addition to pure tracking for the guitar/bass string, it could also be useful to recognise exactly how the guitar string is struck (i.e. whether by plectrum, fingers or tapping actions) for additional playing possibilities, as well as a better separation of inharmonic and harmonic parts of the sound for further separate use in audio and MIDI effects…

Before implementing the research results on ‘normal’ laptops and Ipads etc., perhaps this would be quite useful and not even particularly expensive (approx. 3000$) for the basic investigations of the various trackings:

Yes, I thought of adding “transients” as a 5th dimension to the tracking and the whole rack. Although thats just one more value, I think maybe you can extrapolate those articulations you mention, as a search in this 5d space (transient, strike, pressure, brightness and pitch) over time.

Oh yes, @JamO this is a very good idea, it will open up many new possibilities for playing and designing audio/midi effects! :muscle:

I know nothing about programming, this is meant to be funny…and yet…

MG3 needs LSD
Introducing: Low Signal Detection
A specific button (or switch) that is only activated to detect Low Signals.
So, MG3 is already “aware” detecting for this pattern Ergo! Vis-a-vis! Concordantly.

  1. The Artificial Insensitive (A.I.) is trained to detect the different types
  2. then there is a filter / Discernment process
  3. Hey-Presto…! The beautiful C1 note is produced and there is much rejoicing.

I would actually be interested in watching JamO Tech videos.

You have a way with words!
