Glitching when using MG3 HEX and Swam Double Bass

Hi there,

I’ve been using Swam Double Bass for the last couple of weeks with MG3 HEX version. Laptop: HP with an i7 CPU and 16gb RAM. Audio interface is a Boss GP-10 set to 256.

Swam Double Bass will always glitch no matter what adjustments are made to reducing CPU usage on Windows 11.

I have also adjusted Swam Double Bass settings but glitching still occurs. Even when the tracker is either single channel, or HEX, the same problem remains.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Fred!

A couple of questions:

  1. Do you use the GP 10 for both audio in and out?
  2. Is the Double Bass the only SWAM instrument you use , or is it the only SWAM instrument you have this issue with?
  3. When you say “glitch”, do you also mean it crackles? If not, describe glitch.

Hi Thorleif,

Thanks for you reply.

Yes, GP-10 in and out for audio.

I also use SWAM Saxophones. They initially ‘crackled’ but improved once the Windows 11 operating system had been adjusted.

And yes, I meant audio ‘crackles’.

Cheers,

Fred

Do you have another audio interface that you can use for output, just to test? I use a focusrite Scarlett , and it works fine all the way down to a buffersize 64 with my SWAM instruments. (But I am on a M1 Studio Mac)

I assume you have the latest version of the SWAM instruments too? They have become a bit more CPU heavy with these Room simulators now, but no crackles here (yet).

Yes, I have a Behringer UMC 1820 which can be used for testing MG3 HEX version with. Thanks.

I’m guessing that the Mac might handle audio processing better than a Windows computer? Though I haven’t compared.

The Boss GP-10 is a brilliant pedal which I’ve used for years. However, it’s 10 year old technology may affect how well it processes ASIO compared to the latest interfaces. Though it works well with your Mac. Shame that Boss haven’t released a newer version instead of the serial cable guitar synth technology.

Thanks again.
