Is it possible to use this older equipment with MG3 hex pickup software.
No, is the short answer. MGHEX uses the 6 AUDIO streams that are coming from a hexaphonic pickup on your guitar, and most older gear (like GR1, GR55, VG88, and VG99, for example) does not output or pass on the actual 6x AUDIO streams even when they have the necessary “modern” USB port.
As far as I know the oldest gear you can use this way is the GP10.
But you can always check out the breakout box/cable option into a multichannel audio interface if you aren’t interested in what the modern pedals have to offer over and above working as an 13-pin to USB adapter. Your GK2 will still do the job.
Thanx LoFiLeiF, I thought as much. I have checked out breakout box stuff.
I’ve just recorded something using the GR1 midi output direct to ITB synths along
with the GR1 direct guitar output and this should serve me well enough.
