Has anyone tried the Eventide Rotarty Mod vst?

Has anyone tried the Eventide Rotarty Mod vst? I’m thinking of purchasing it as it is selling for around 29 USD at sweetwater. Most of any Leslie effects have been very poor or very expensive in the past. (Even the good Leslie pedals are very expensive still. The Lester G by Electro harmonix seems to be about the best for the money since the Behrigner RM600 is no longer available or at least I can’t find any new ones for sale.)

I tried the free demo available on the link below. I can’t get the slow / fast switch to work with my FCB1010 foot controller. I’m not sure if it can be done. I tried using MG2 to detect it but it doesn’t seem to. I wonder if there’s another way to get it to work with a cc controller?

I did get the footcontroller to control a leslie speed switch the free AZR3 synthesizer I use for organ so I know the pedal woks fine with MG2.

Here’s link for the demo:

I recommend to use MG3 which allows to access and control all parameters of the Eventide Rotary Mod VST. You can even gradually control the speed with an expression pedal.

After inserting the VST you can select the parameters you want to control using the four empty fields in the VST module:

Just connect and assign your FCB1010 to the patchbay and “wire” it using the corresponding CC# which are sent.

Can you do this in MG2?

If not how much does it cost to upgrade to MP3 and will it automatically
transfer all patches, previous CC assignments, instruments, effects and
settings etc.

the upgrade is free for pc and mac.

upgrading does not transfer your patches or assignments.

mg2 will remain unaffected, they can run side by side.

I assume you mean I could run MG2 for what I have patches for now and also run MG3 for any new patches with the Rotary Mod assigned to a CC pedal.

I could also refer to MG2 if I wanted to rebuild all the patches in MG3.

Could I load the patches into MG3 in one step?

Haven’t had any problems with Eventide plug-in parameter automation/MIDI control on macOS – I’d imagine the plugins on Windows 10/11 work the same. Maybe the trial version is limited?

FYI, MG2 presets are only partially compatible with MG3 – there is almost always a little tweaking to be done.
