Help with routing MIDI out of MG3 to an instrument in Cubase

Greetings,
Just got GM3 and started hooking it up.
my setup - Cubase 13 pro/UA Apollo 6x TB/Windows 11
I did put GM3 as an insert into an audio track.
Then added an instrument track with NI Kontakt 7 Electric Mint guitar.
Then routed GM3 insert midi out into midi instrument midi in.
Don’t see any midi activity in Kontakt instrument or Cubase MIDI out monitor.
I must be missing something trivial.
Thanks a lot.

Did you enable “monitor” on the Kontakt instrument track?

This is how Cubase shall look like. Use the MG3 “MIDI Guitar Mini” patch. Insert the MIDI machine “Transposer” and set it to + 1 Oktave since the “Kontakt Session Guitarist Series” requires that in order to match the pitch.

Thanks a lot for your pointers! All is good now, sort of  Main issues are: lagging but I saw one on YT addressing that, and glitching that is beyond being passable. Spending the weekend watching all tutorials. Besides growing pain, the soft looks unbelievably sophisticated.

Hi, I have been using similar settings and it works fine but was wondering why MG3 (MG2 was the same) enables users to load an instrument directly inside the plugin (As an insert in the Audio track) if they cannot be played/heard without the need to create an instrument track. It works for the Test Synth, but not with third party instruments. Is this a bug with the beta version or am I missing anything.
Thanks!

You can run plugins inside the MG2&3 plugin. If you can not hear any sound it might be a setup issue. To choose an instrument track in a DAW has other reasons e.g. to record MIDI notes.

Because Cubase limitations doesn’t exist in other DAWs.
Works fine in Reaper and Waveform.

:slightly_smiling_face:

It works also fine in Cubase.

Thanks both for your feedback and sorry about my late response. Been away from my screen for a few days with bad flu.
I have tried again and it works fine now :+1:
