How to scan for plugins

Hi, am brand new to MG3. Am trying to make all my plugins available as instruments / effects, but am doing something wrong I’m sure. When I scan, including custom folders, I’m told that many plugins have been found [over 500, most of them Waves I’m sure] yet I can’t get them to appear in the “Instruments” or “Effects” list, when trying to load them into the chain.

Okay, some do appear, including a sparse few of the Waves set. But most of those 500 are AWOL. Maybe Waves hides them somewhere non-obvious?

Waves on my win system stored the plugins grouped within files, sometimes dozens per file. iirc there were three separate files which needed (in my case) to be copied to my main vst folder. sorry i don’t recall the exact name of the files, over time i’ve stopped using Waves.

this may help:

Thanks Kimyo. I followed Waves’ advice, still no luck. Am not seeing most of those plugins either in “Instruments” or “Audio Effects” in the MG3 menu.

i just checked on my backup system. like you i only see a handful of the waves plugins available in mg3.

it is a bit odd because the ones that show are spread among the container files, so the error is not confined to just one of those.

as the latest release of mg3 is imminent i’ll update and rescan and let you know if i find anything new.

for sure, let’s see if things get better then.
