Installing MIDI Guitar 3 Hex — where are the installation paths?

Urs

Hi Urs,

The VG-99 and Axon AX100 do not support individual string audio output over USB. So they are not the primary intended audio source for MG3 Hex. So, you could acquire a GP-10 for the purpose of use with MG3 Hex, but it is not the only option available, though it is generally the lowest cost.

The good news is that the latest version of MIDI Guitar 3 (macOS only) has an external MIDI instrument tracker that might be a good place for you to start. You can certainly feed it with a VG-99’s guitar-to-MIDI output, or MIDI from the Axon AX100’s MIDI output.

To assist in answering your other questions, could you please let us know if you are on macOS or Windows and any relevant version info?

All the best,
Luke

Hello
Ich habe Windows 11.
Welche alternative zu Boss Gp 10 gibt es ? GP 10 scheint ausverkauft zu sein.

Urs

If you have a GK-3 pickup the SY-1000 is the only Boss synth (beside the GP10) where you can directly plug in the GK cable. The newer synths like GM-800 and VG-800 require a analog to digital converter between the GK cable and synth.
Other option is a breakout cable and a mixer with at least 6 input channels. On ebay you might find used or even new GP-10 models.
