iOS audio output issue

Hi,

After updating to iOS 18.4, I am experiencing an issue with the audio output.

Here is my configuration:

  • I connect my iPad Pro 2nd generation via USB-C to the Nano Cortex.
  • Via GM2, I use the Module to play string instruments.

Before the update, the output channel was the Nano Cortex, allowing me to play guitar and string instruments from the same device.

Now, in GM2’s I/O configuration, I have the correct input from the Nano Cortex, but for the output, I only have Speaker 1 and Speaker 2 from the iPad.

How can I resolve this issue?

Thanks, Andrea

  • What is “GM2”? Do you mean MIDI Guitar 2?
  • What is “the Module”? Do you mean KORG Module?

iPadOS (not iOS) 18.4 is a beta release that dropped in the last 24 hours and is therefore unstable by definition. That said, you shouldn’t only have Speaker 1 and Speaker 2 from the iPad so there is clearly an issue.

To state the obvious, iOS/iPadOS updates often introduce issues for audio and MIDI so the best thing you can do is verify that your Quad Cortex is working with a range of audio-MIDI applications. Are you experiencing the same issues in any other audio effects applications?

If it’s not isolated to MIDI Guitar 2/3 – that is, if you can reproduce the issue in other audio applications – you should report it to Apple via the beta program that you are enrolled in.

And thank you for beta testing for Apple…your pain means the rest of us have less to suffer through.

Thanks a lot for the feedback.
I tried to reset the iPad setting and now it’s working.
I’ve tried also the beta of gm3 on iOS. Great job!
I’m waiting the final release.
Bye Andrea
