Hi everyone! I have been using MIDI Guitar 2 on my iPad for quite a few years. Yesterday, I decided to try the Desktop version thinking the performance was going to be the same as on my iPad. To my surprise, Windows version is waaay ahead of the iOS version (in terms of accuracy, speed, artifacts, etc). Is this because the iPad version has not been updated for like 6 years? or by default, I should not expect that version to be as good as Windows or MacOS versions?
And if you try the MG3 beta version (requires a MG2 win/mac license) you will probably not play with your iOS version anymore.
Yes, it is an awesome version. It has a lot of cutomization settings I will not use, though. I only need the basics. The problem is that I have all my live rig on my iPad, which is super reliable and portable… but I guess I’ll have to buy a notebook just for MG3
is the ipad’s mg performance dependent on the audio interface?
it might be worth trying other options.
I tried 2 differnet audio interfaces and got same result. Besides, I use many plugins and music software on this iPad and the performance is amazing, no glitches or CPU overload. The MIDI Guitar software runs smoothly, it just throws many “ghost” notes… accuracy is terrible compared aginst the PC version.
In addition, I have compared iPad vs PC using the same audio interface as it is compatible with both… it seems more of a design issue…
