Jam Origin MIDI Guitar 2 with Logic Pro

I’m testing the trial version of Jam origin midi guitar with LogicPro. I’ve recorded a piano sample track and I can hear the piano sound as I play / record the guitar. However, on play back, all I hear is a clean guitar sound. I’ve created and recorded on a guitar track and also created a separate electric piano track on LogicPro as per videos I’ve watched, but the result is the same on playback…just clean guitar. Any suggestions please to rectify this?

in general, most daws would require three tracks, in addition to yours (guitar, piano), you’d typically need a third which records the output of the piano track.

logic is probably recording the input of the piano track (your guitar) rather than the output.

Based on what you wrote I’m guessing you’re referring to MIDI Guitar 2 (not MG3) on macOS (not iPadOS) and that you’re using the plugin version (not standalone). Please clarify if otherwise. It’s always helpful to state these things upfront. How would anybody be able to help you without that info to reference?

Are you familiar with using Logic Pro? Did you arm and record to the instrument track (piano)?

How do you have the tracks configured?

I don’t understand how you could be hearing a clean guitar playback from a virtual instrument track. So, I guess you’re playing back your source guitar audio track at the same time as your instrument track, right? If you don’t want to hear the guitar that you’ve recorded, mute that track.

AFIK, Logic Pro is always listening to MIDI on all channels as long as you don’t specify a particular input source. Did you record a MIDI track at the same time as your audio track? Can you see MIDI in the container on the virtual piano track?

Thanks so much! I’m fairly new to all of this tbh. I thought I’d been using MG3 in the trial, but when I click on it in Logic, it’s showing as MG2. I can now hear the electronic piano version of what I recorded on the guitar, however. it’s clearly the sound sample of LogicPro rather than from MG2. Yes, I guess I’m using the plug in version. If you could maybe give me step by step approach as to how I should set this all up initially when recording jam organ into Logic Pro, that would be incredibly helpful
