As all of the VST hosting is offloaded to the DAW when using Midi Guitar 2 within a DAW, I think it would be a good idea to make the VST version just have the core audio to midi functionality without all of the bells and whistles when using it standalone.
Those bells and whistles are only active if they are activated, and many people actually also use the internal MG sounds in their DAW.
So it seems just extra work for us to make things invisible, it will not change performance however…
