I want to get a plug in that does mandolin from guitar. How can I try his out with your software? What are the steps to install on Max OSX Tahoe 26.5.2
have you already selected a virtual mandolin? which one?
many options require kontakt, which can be a pain.
also most are designed to be triggered via keyboard so it can be difficult to achieve a ‘natural’ sound when using a guitar as input.
is this for live work or a recording?
I have the Orange Tree Evolution Mandolin instrument for Kontakt and didn’t have much success with it and MIDI Guitar 3. If you have or are planning on purchasing something different, please let us know how it works out and what your set up is. I would love to have a decent mandolin instrument that could be triggered well from MG3.
What was wrong with it? I usually get really good results with the later OTE instruments. Just curious.
I might need to go back and try it again or maybe see if there is an updated version. It never felt very responsive on the single notes and was hard to do quick little mandolin licks.
Maybe it is one of the older evolution instruments? They needed a little bit more tinkering, and the dynamics have were a bit blocky on some of those too.
