MG2 free trial not working

I am interested in MIDI Guitar 3 (I bought MIDI Guitar for Garageband in the past). So I intend to buy MIDI Guitar 2, and naturally I downloaded the free trial. Followed the instructions, setting up my interface, and MG2 does not respond to my guitar. I do not hear the Test Piano when I play my guitar. I can hear the piano when I play the on-screen keyboard.

I also tried my old copy of MIDI Guitar for Garageband, and it did not work, either. I have no trouble with other audio apps. I can see the input coming from my interface in the Sound Preferences, I can record guitar in Audacity, no problem.

I’m running macOS 11.7.10
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports),
3.1 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5,
16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like you didn’t give the apps permission to use the “microphone” (ie. your interface). Please check: Mac Settings => Settings => Privacy => Microphone.
