Hopefully someone here can help. I have been running MG2 inside AUM on an iPad Pro to drive various AUV3 synths for a few years now with no issues. I utilize a Helix floor as the interface and everything has ran flawlessly. About a month or so ago, MG2 stopped sending midi to other apps. Has anyone experienced this?
I have tried deleting and reinstalling, but there is no change.
I just tested MG2 loaded in AUM. There’s no problem whatsoever with sending MIDI to AUv3 synths. Do you have everything configured correctly?
(I’m on iOS 26.2).
I do. USB 7 (DI out of Helix) into MG2, Synth mapped to MG2. It will start out working fine at soundcheck, but at some point later when I recall the patch, nothing.
I’ve used MG2 for years and have several patches that have, until recently ran like clockwork. Now, those same patches will just stop working randomly.
Can you share your AUM file?
When you say “recall the patch” do you mean recall a configuration in AUM or do you mean recall a patch in MG2?
I mean recalling the saved configuration in AUM. I will post one of the AUM files.
You have a fairly intricate setup, so it’s tricky to duplicate, but I’ll try to leave MIDI Guitar 2 running with poison as a target sent on for a while and see if anything happens.
It seems worthwhile to ask if you’re using multiple instances of MG2 (per recalled AUM config) and how you have them set up.
Just to be thorough, have you 100% verified that the MIDI has stopped transmitting with a MIDI monitor?
I have not thought to run a monitor on it. Good call! I was basing my assumption on seeing the input meter on the AUM channel and in MG2 itself. I never run more than one instance of MG2.
I shut down and reloaded this morning and it was working before I left for work. I’m going the check it when I get home.
FWIW, I set up four-sessions in AUM (assigned to PC 0-3) and instantiated MIDI Guitar 2 once in each session. I left it running for about an hour, occasionally switching between the sessions and I couldn’t get it to break the MIDI connection.
I checked my set up when I got home and it still worked. I have no idea the trigger is. I’ve got a monitor running now. If it drops out hopefully that might shed some light.
Thank you for you help!
