Has someone tried to use MG3 with Divisimate?
Yes! MPE on all channels. Works fine! Also the new plugin version of DIVISIMATE worked fine for me!
Is that true for Windows as well? I know you’re a Mac User, but maybe you have heard otherwise?
when I try to set it up, (using LoopMidi for Windows) the signal is fine, going into Divisimate. But in Cubase there is no signal going into the insntrument track, eventhough i can see the signal comming into Cubase, and the channel is set to receive incomming MIDI data from the Divisimate port of choice…
Am I doing something wrong??
Maybe just a stupid question, but did you enable “monitor” on your desired instrument track in Cubase. If you see incoming MIDI activities you must get them onto a track.
There are no stupid questions . And thanks! But yes, I tried that. It’s quite puzzling, because if I set the track (in Cubase) to only listen for the LoopMidi port, it works fine. But the point is of course to go through Divisimate…
How are you setting up, and what DIVISIMATE version are you using? If I just open Cubase on my Mac I have all four of my DIVISIMATE micro ports available. It looks like this:
And changing to the full DIVISIMATE setup in my toolbar port configuration menu
I get all 32 ports in Cubase as well.
And this has nothing to do with MIDI Guitar 3 at this point. I haven’t opened it yet. What actually happens when I use the DIVISIMATE plugin Is that MG3 can make use of the first four ports, instead of me having to set up the standalone version of DIVISIMATE. But it seems as if these ports are available in what ever configuration I choose independent of the software being open.
What does it look like for you?
I’m using the full Divisimate 1.4 in standalone. Then opening MG3. Setting it up to send midi via the LoopMidi port. (Making sure Divisimate is set up to receive data from Loop Midi). Then I’m opening Cubase (12 artist), and creating an instrument track. And lastly setting the track to listen for the Divisimate port of choice (in this case, just port 1).
As I said, it looks like a midi signal is coming into Cubase when I play my guitar, but it does not go into the instrument track…
You seem to be right! For some reason I am getting nothing using the standalone version 1.4.0 either. Iit is receiving my MG3 “MIDI out”, and I can clearly see it pop up as an INPUT DEVICE as well, but I get nothing in either Cubase or Logic using it. No issues when using their MICRO plugin though.
I can swear I had this exact (standalone) setup when I recorded with DIVISIMATE before. I believe it is something with DIVISIMATE 1.4.0 at this time, but I need to do some researching on this to be sure.
When you say “it looks like a MIDI signal coming in to Cubase”, what are you seeing? I used my best MIDI monitor ( UWYN ShowMIDI) on several places simultaneously, In MG3, and in standalone (between all software) and also inside Cubase and Logic, and I can’t see any MIDI leaving the Standalone DIVISIMATE app at all.
Well I might be interpreting something wrong here, but in the lower right corner of Cubase, there is a meter displaying incoming audio and midi signals. Am I wrong??
No you are probably not wrong. But with that meter you just see SOMETHING is being recieved. And when you send MIDI Guitar 3 to DIVISIMATE you probably also send it to Cubase?
If you choose “ALL INS” under routings for your instrument track don’t your instrument play/sound?
Ahhh shure, of course!!
I will test this tomorrow.
Thank you so much for your help so far!!
Yes it does. And also when i chose the LoopMidi port, which probably means that the data is comming directly from MG3, and not Divisimate?? Bummer!!
