Hi, let me start by thanking you for allowing me to participate in the testing of MG3 for iOS. I’m trying MG3 as AUv3 in Loopy Pro and found some weird thing I can’t explain.
I recorded 1 bar loop with clean unprocessed electric guitar and used that loop as a source for MG3.
My presumption was that the result should be the same for each played loop. But it isn’t.
I have tried to set different combinations of values for Gain, Gate, Strike and Pressure and also set Bend range to “No Bends”. No difference, result is the same.
I’m MG newbie and this is my first experience so I’m not sure I miss something to set or maybe I accidentally found a bug. Could you check it, please?
Ah thats an interesting case!
I believe the reason for this is that the audio from your loop inevitable has to be fed to MG in small chunks (audio buffers), not in whole “loops”. That will cause an offset at the start of each round, compared to the last. So from the MG perspective, the stream of audio is different for each round. Even though it’s a small difference, apparently that cause a slight tracking variation there.
I guess we should be able to sync the tracking to the play-time/loop information from Loopy Pro. I have added this to my todo list, but low priority right now.
Understand, thank you. I can’t upload the source audio now because I’m too new here so if that audio would be useful for you then please let me know.
