MG3 + FSP (Fender Studio Pro 8)

FSP (Fender Studio Pro 8)

I’m not getting any connections from the standalone MG3 to FSP.
it’s not clear to me why using MG3 standalone is better than using the VST3 inside FSP.
as shown in this tutorial.

  1. Can MG3 be setup as VST3 inside FSP with MPE like this?

The MG VST is an audio-to-midi converter. So the obvious solution would be:

  1. Create a standard audio track
  2. Drag ‘n’ drop the MG VST on the audio track
  3. Create a VST instrument on a second track
  4. Change the Midi-in of the instrument to listen to the MG Midi-out
  5. Enable monitoring or recording
  6. Done

For the MPE version simply use MG3 and enable MPE for the instrument. If the non-MPE version works then the MPE version should be working too.

  1. Using MOTU mk3 Ultralite i/o (48kz/24bit) connected via USB.
when using MG3 as a standalone to connect to FSP, Do i need to set midi out to “Ultralite mk3” or do i still need something like LoopBe1?

you may want to search for ‘studio one’ issues, as fsp does not have a large user base and i have never seen it mentioned here.

this and further down the thread indicate that mpe is not an option with studio one.
