MG3 No Factory Sounds (Except Piano, Guitar) ...on Mac

Another quick question, thanks for the help earlier! I just installed MG3 and I tried a few of the patches that show up in the same window where the INTRODUCTION patch appears. Guitars and Pianos all worked, but nothing loaded from Factory for Orchestral, Sax, or Synths? Let me know if I missed something here, or if these are yet to come?

Right now you will find 8 presets under “Factory / Guitar”, 3 presets under “Factory / Keys” and 3 presets under “Factory / Synths”.
You can load any VST you have or you might find on various plugin pages in the web with orchestral or any other sounds.

Edit:

The preset “The Elephant Told You” loads the VST “Surge XT” which you need to have installed to hear any sound. This is a free VST and can be found here:

MG3 converts your guitar audio to midi so you can drive your VSTi instruments.

There are a few free VSTi instruments included as a sample to get you started but the idea is to use your own VSTs

I believe those sample-based instruments are not yet fully implemented.

Hi all, thanks for the input, I understand now that there are several Factory Patches that don’t have an instrument populated and that I can use my own instruments to test out the other functionality. The confusion on my end was merely based on the typical use of the term “Factory” in music tools: on most pedals for example, this will be an array of presets you can use “right out of the box.” This is why I was wondering if there was something I was doing wrong or this was part of the Beta aspect of this particular version. ….Again, thanks for the help! I’ll have more questions I am sure — and I’m grateful to those of you who are willing to share your insight and experience. This helps make a supe-rich tool like MG3 a joy to explore. :+1:
