Midi Bass not working properly, extra wrong notes, and notes not being recognized

I only play simple sustained eighth and sixteenth notes, and Midi Bass cannot give me the most basic effect. There are notes that are not recognized, and there are also wrong extra high or low notes, and my recording is already as clean as possible. Serum is set to Mono mode, and I tried everything to adjust the parameters everywhere, but it doesn’t work.

I would like to ask if Midi Bass can really only achieve this effect, or is there something wrong with my settings?

someone help me,If it still doesn’t work properly,I can only try the sonuus g2m

Real time bass tracking is difficult and something that has never been “solved” by us or anyone. Unless you go for some special hardware option with seperated
strings or the bass piccolo strings trick with MG3, I think MB1 is the only option, and not so useful except for some creative use perhaps. MB3 is coming but whether that’s going to be enough is uncertain.

my laptop is being repaired ,I plan to use the pitch shift vst plugin on the bass audio track and then use MG3 to identify it when laptop well done。

Can you explain the bass piccolo strings trick in detail? Can I use exl280 piccolo strings directly on my standard-length bass? Does the MG3 require any additional setup after stringing?

Better ask in the users in the thread I linked above

Pitch shifter works in a way… but also far from ideal… we have made a high quality pitch shifter a long time ago, and would have used this for bass, if it was a good idea.

Hey 49ND,

Those strings are guitar strings that will fit on your bass regarding the length: EXL280 Nickel Wound Piccolo | Bass Guitar Strings | D'Addario
You can buy those on Amazon too.

That way I can tune my four string Bass like a guitar. Yes, your bass will now sound like a guitar and this works perfectly (for me) with MG2 and MG3.

I did use in the past pitch shifter VST and Hardware pedals (EHX pog2)…and nothing worked as best as those 25$ daddario strings. The only adjustement I did was to lower the action of my strings on the neck. I set it as close as I could without having ‘‘buzzing’’ notes when playing.

I did here 2 ( very simple ) videos. I play slow on those, but you can go fast too (like LoFiLeif) https://www.youtube.com/@lofileif and it will work too.

This little bass that you see me play with is a ‘‘cheap’’ Stagg lefthanded bass that I got secondhand on Facebook Market place for a 100$ canadian…that I bought precisely for that. I did not want to mess with my main Schecter stiletto Studio.

Glad I did not went for the new boss GM800…was tempted, but my need were simply to be able to control virtual instruments with my Bass. Extremly glad I went with the piccolo Bass strings.
