MIDI for MusicLab LPC guitar

I am a composer. I’m gaining proficiency on guitar, enough that i can use it to write parts that are more authentic. However, I still want to just send the midi to my DAW on a MusicLab LPC instrument. From there I can tweak it into more sophisticated parts than I can currently perform.

LPC does a good job of determining hammer on/off, etc. I am wondering if MIDI GUITAR 2 will do a good job of sending velocity, pitch bend and any other controllers that would facilitate an accurate reproduction in a synth such as MUSICLAB’s LPC.

mg2 will excel at sending velocity but you may want mg3 if you need poly bends.

in mg3 you can also acquire and transmit cc from outside sources. this would be useful for the articulations in lpc.

however, if you’re primarily a keyboard player wanting a tool to make your guitar parts seem more ‘natural’ mg2/3 may not be the most direct approach.

I wasn’t able to download it from the site. Is there some way to test it out? mg3

the mg3beta is here, i don’t know if the mg2 trial is still available:

scroll down the page and look on the left for ‘downloads’.

I downloaded and installed it but it is asking for a license. Isn’t there a way to trial it for a little while?

i think the license thing is a nudge? if you clear that window you should get a period of operation.

i forget the details but on windows at least the beta works temporarily without a serial.

So! I’m trying to use it with a Cubase. I keep getting messages about the buffer size being wrong. No matter what adjustments I make, I get this message.:

Your DAW is running at an unsupported buffer FINITE SUSTAI size of 1024. This is too high for real time usage.

But my zoom UAC-8 interface is running at 128 samples. No matter what changes I try to make I get these messages. My latency is pretty awesome on this machine, really. So, I’m not sure what to do.
