MIDI Guitar 2 and MIDI Guitar 3 licenses

At the moment only the purchase of Midi Guitar 2 is available, if I purchase this license will I be able to use it in future versions including in the beta version of Guitar Midi 3?

Hi @smureddu

Yes, if you purchase a (full) MIDI Guitar 2 license now you will get MG3 for free. MG2 is a different software from MG3 so you will ba able to both simultaneously if you like. You will also have acess to the betaversion of MIDI Guitar 3 immediatly (and free from the timout interruptions) That MG3 beta is already availible on the beta page (DOWNLOADS section) if you want to try it first.

Thank you very much !!! By Full version, do you mean the USD 149.95 one ? If yes I will purchase just that one in the next few days.

That is the one! :+1:

Hi,
Is it still available?
I mean if I purchase MG2 now, Iā€™ll get MG3 full version in the future when it is ready?

Yes.

Hi,
I have a midi guitar 2 license and downloaded midi guitar 3. I have an activation passcode that I input but the SUBMIT email button does not respond and MG3 continues in interrupt mode. I first bought Midi Guitar way back when it was in beta development. When I updated to Midi Guitar 2 my license had to be reactivated as I had changed my PC. Can you help?
Many thanks
Rich

Many thanks, the screenshots helped with activation.

Hi JamO, i use both Macbook pro M4 and Windows 11. If i buy the single MG2 license, will I be able to use the same license on both of my Mac and windows PC? I use windows for my Gigperformer Guitar Rig setup and use Mac for DAW work. Pls let me know.

Yes, you can use it on two computers, and doesnā€™t matter if its PC or Mac.

My other music programs allow at least 3 installations, some such as Studio One even allow 5 installations on different computers.

With MidiGuitar 2, I was able to install and use this program on any number of computers. Why has its use now been so restrictively limited?

I have a permanently installed computer in the studio and a permanently installed computer in our practice room. I use a laptop for gigs. Is this already a very unusual situation for musicians?

@JamO, Or could you reconsider allowing at least 3 installations in the future?

Thanks man. I will put the order in. When is the MG3 getting released?

Hi, do you have any educational discount? I am still learning and training in music production in DAW.

iā€™m comfortable with two installations.

jam origin is not presonus, plus presonus is actively trying to build a user base, which could be why they offer 5, which iā€™ve never seen before.

i do have some vstā€™s which allow 3 installs, but the majority limit me to 2.

a more important issue for me is if the software can ā€˜phone homeā€™ and disable itself. this i find to be completely unacceptable.

i intend to purchase a second copy of mg3hex, i have 3 multi pickup instruments and there are times when i will be using two instances of it simultaneously on two separate computers.

i find jam originā€™s policy to be reasonable on all fronts. they donā€™t treat their users like criminals. they do have to take steps to protect their intellectual property.
