MIDI Guitar 2.component not opened because developer cannot be verified Logic 10.4.8

I have downloaded the version for Mac ()Monterey OS 12.7.1|.
MIDI Guitar 2 works as a standalone but not wth in Logic pro 10.4.8.
It says : MIDI guitar 2.component not opened because developer cannot be verified.

What can I do to bypass this?
Thank you in advance

Open System Settings and select Privacy & Security from the list. If you tried opening the app, select “Open Anyway” from the settings to start it. Alternatively, Ctrl-click on the app in the Finder and select Open to make your computer trust the app.

that worked perfectly, thank you very much!

I have the same problem but worse; It just can´t be opened anyway. Logic 10.7.2 on Big Sur 11.5.2

What does that mean? You did manually add MG2 to your trusted apps and you still get a error message?

No, i can´t unpack the compressed file .components. Is MG2 incompatible with Intel machines? I have tried all known walkarounds and different unzippers.

I can’t recall that there is anything to unzip manually. It should install using the disk image (dmg file). It is compatible with Intel Macs.

They say i have to copy the .components file to the plugins folder: plugins folder: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/. MG2 doesn´t show in Logic. I really appreciate your help btw.

Correct, I now I remember. Just drag the component file from the dmg installer into the directory as specified (see the “if you….” hint)

Copy MIDIGuitar2 .component file to your AudioUnit plugins folder: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/

If you cant find these folders, open Finder and hold “cmd” and “shift” keys and press “G”. Now copy the above path into the dialog that pops up.

In order for your DAW to discover the new MIDI Guitar plugins you sometimes need to make it rescan your plugins folder for plugins or restart the Mac.

Sometimes you need to reboot macOS in order for newly installed audio units to be registered in Logic Pro.

Sorry, I was reiterating @Dutti67’s post. I’d just add it’s easier to restart macOS than to rebuild the audio unit registry but you can definitely Google how to do the latter if you want to.

MG3 works like a charm, but thanks anyway!

Agreed. But users still ask about MG2 rather often.
