Midi Guitar 2 patches in MainStage

I can’t get patches to save for anything. Every time I quit MainStage, every instance of MIDI Guitar 2 switches to either DEFAULT or TEST PIANO patch. Troubleshooting so far…

  1. Got rid of as many of the standard patches as I could. DEFAULT and TEST PIANO can’t be deleted.
  2. Went through all of my MainStage patches and made sure each one was saved with the correct MIDI Guitar 2 patch
  3. Deleted the instance of MIDI Guitar 2 in the MainStage patch (i.e., set the channel to No Plug-in), re-added the plugin and set it to the proper preset
In every instance, when MainStage is quit and reopened, every patch loses the correct patch and goes to one of the two defaults. Note that as long as MainStage remains open (i.e., during a rehearsal or a show) everything works as expected. This only happens when I quit MainStage.
Also note that I do not use a lot of patches. Pretty much just two: one for polyphonic stuff like organs and pianos and a second for lead sounds like sax and flute that are monophonic and set to accept bends.
I am running a fully licensed version of 2.2.1. Should I try MIDI Guitar 3 beta? Is it stable enough to use for shows?

This post may prove useful for you.

I have the same issue with my live DAW Cantabile with MG2. My testing with MG3 shows it is working much better than MG2 for preset loading.

Yeah. I set up a patch using the MG3 beta and it is working flawlessly. I may just live dangerously and switch all of my MainStage instances of MG2 to MG3. I have gigs coming up, so that is a tiny bit scary. But it does seem pretty stable. Thanks for the input.
