Looking forward to checking this out once I’m done at the NAMM show.
FYI, I’m using MG3 (and other controllers) to show a tech preview of MPE in Pro Tools.

Reporting maybe a little glitch : When loading a NAM profile into NAM, I have found no way to delete it and load another one, other than removing the module and start from scratch. Nothing big but the list of profiles that appears on the right of the GUI (showing folder content) should have a way to remove the selected profile . I have tested with backspace key and long press on NAM module but it won’t go away.![]()
Something seems wrong. Why delete it?
I just load a profile, and then click the name of the profile to switch directly to another one. The list shows all profiles in the same folder. But maybe it should really show all profiles in the nam folder and all sub-folders(?).
I like that the NAM plugin only shows the immediate folder’s profiles. Generally, they are different settings on the same amplifier model, which is what I have already decided to use. I can see how it might be more convenient to simply hold a modifier key and see all profiles rather than reloading the plugin, but it’s not that big of a deal.
I also don’t see the need to delete the current profile. You can turn the plugin off to get the “dry” signal, or load a new profile to change the “wet” signal. Maybe I’m missing something here?
Let me try to explain.
Load Nam. Load Fender Twin (full rig). There are many profiles of Fender twin in the folder. . I have another folder where I have for example VoxAC30 profiles. So I don’t know how to remove the Fender Twin and substitute it with the VoxAC30. Maybe it’s not a glitch but me don’t getting how is done. Hope this helps. To me there’s no need to show all the profiles in all folders. It’s great as it is now.
Thanks
Clicking on the name of the profile in plugin only gives you access to the current folder that the current profile is in. If you want to change folders, click on the Neural Amp plugin in the Chain list. Scroll down to Neural Amp Models and you will see a list of all the profiles that MG3 knows about. There is also an item at the top named [Browse] which gives you a standard file system dialog box that makes it easier to navigate to something like “VOX Amps.”
You may already know all this of course. I would think that just adding a [Browse] item to the current folder list from the profile in the plugin may be a good option to make a shortcut to get what you want anywhere in your file system, if that is not too difficult to implement.
Something you can do right now is put the profiles you want to switch between all in the same folder. Maybe just a folder full of aliases would work too, I haven’t tried that.
Aliases are great (my Linux spirit rejoices) I’ll test that. Thx!
Or maybe just a “..” one folder up?
One other issue I just noticed. I have all my different NAM models organised in folders within my top NAM Folder. I point the default MG3 NAM folder to the top folder. When I select NAM Module with MG3 it seems to load and lists all NAM files from the first (lexically sorted) folder. This a little counter intuitive — I prefer to see just the Browse option (or folder lists).
That would make the UX perfect IMHO. Good idea! ![]()
That will work. Thanks.
In the meantime, I have tested my fav NAM profiles (full rig) and compared them with NAM Plugin. I have done the same with fav AMP Profiles + Cabinets (using the Cabinet in MG3) compared with NAM Plugin. All works fine. I have also learned what ToneStack could be… and how it was not present in the original NAM profile and how it contributes to the overall sound in MG3 NAM implementation. It’s very satisfactory! So once again @JamO delivered a robust and sound set of features, very useful as standalone guitar platform and now modeler and multi-fx. Kudos!![]()
I have a feature request: Stereo audio device module.
Stereo audio device would be nice and use up one less slot.
Within a chain you can, at least, add each left and right channel in respective slots for stereo output
Another feature request: toggle for audible metronome with time signatures and beat 1 of bar indicator. Similar to the Ableton metronome.
I’m confused…. can the current version accept midi notes as an input? I was sure it was working when I first tested it but now I can’t replicate it.
