I am not familiar with this term for audio but I suppose you are talking about Direct Monitoring?
That is the thing I never touch, it is always turned to USB so I never have that issue !

what is turned to USB? Your interface? if so, What kind of interface?

I find myself in possession of probably the three best Midi Instruments; MG three, triple play, and ROR wired guitar. I need to learn MG three better to be able to truly compare the three

I was referring to your scarlett: when the monitor knob is not set fully clockwise “you are hearing the signal before it reaches the software” (quotation from the scarlett instructions for use).

When the monitor knob is set fully clockwise you are hearing the signal coming from the software via USB.

The Scarlett has no labels written around this knob, you’ll find written on other interfaces, direct/usb, direct/daw, dry/wet, etc.

Wonderful video, @LoFiLeiF! Do you have a similar video just focused on auv guitars?

I ask because I am trying to shift my production & playing environment to iOS - specifically an iPad Pro - using Midi Guitar 2/3 with Loopy Pro. So I’m trying to find instruments I can use there, which (alas) I can’t do with my NI Kontakt instruments.

No, I can’t say I have. The only AUv3 guitar I have is the Pianoteq nylon string, which of course work just as well on iOS as on your regular desktop. (even better perhaps, since it doesn’t automatically sidechain any real audio in to be blended with the actual sound in the iOS version).
