NAM tone stacks in MG3

Having fun with the new NAM implementation I recursively come to ask myself a question:

Tonestack does not belong to NAM so what actually is Tone stack in Jamorigin NAM implementation ?

I am asking it because it creates pleasant and dramatic changes to the overall sound. In this case using a Fender Super Reverb full rig, playing with the Tone Stack (here Blues) provides interesting sounds, which when at default were not there. I guess that it’s an added tone shaping layer so it makes exploring new combinations even interesting. However it departs from the standard NAM capture made, right?

Thanks

Yes, the first tone stack (default) is equal to the official nam implementation. The others are modeled after iconic amps (you can guess each one). The are all dissected here:

https://www.guitarscience.net/tsc/bassman5f6a.htm#RIN=1300&R1=56k&RT=250k&RB=1M&RM=25k&RL=1M&C1=250p&C2=20n&C3=20n&RB_pot=LogA&RM_pot=Linear&RT_pot=Linear

I think the nam technology is really amazing but where it shines is obviously non-linear modeling (all sorts of complex distortions), whereas the tone stacks are in a way complimentary and linear eq’ing. So together I think its the best of both worlds.

I agree. I can get sounds that are very inspiring. Your implementation is great!
