Need Support for First Time User

Hello,

The idea of this software is amazing but I can’t seem to get mine working. Here is my setup:

  • Guitar plugged directly into an 18i20 focusrite on channel 2 with the “inst” selected to on.
  • One powered PA connected to focusrite channel 1
  • One powered PA connected to focusrite channel 10
  • Please see the below picture for all the settings in both software screens.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

UPDATE: I can now see the keyboard playing the notes on the Midi Guitar software but still dont hear the output. This makes me think it is now an output issue.

  • Question: I assume the monitor can not be used as the output but I can not get the focusrite to output the sound.

on the output channel, try 1/2 instead of 9/10.

looking at an image of the front panel i don’t see a mix knob, if there is one in the software mixer it should be in the middle or on computer only.

as a first time user you may want to start with mg3 instead of mg2. there are many improvements and there won’t be much benefit to learning the old interface.

but both mg2 and 3 should work fine with your focusrite.

after many hours of restarting and reselecting it worked. I don’t know for sure what i did for the corrective action but I have now got the licensed version and will move forward. I think restarting my computer was the corrective action. The output ended up coming from speaker 1 (monitor)

I look forward to adding other mdi instruments and continuing my adventure with this solution.

i’m glad it is working.

surge xt is free and pairs nicely with mg2/3.

aside from midi, there are analog audio processing tools worth looking at: deep expressor, sweet spot and nams (mg3 only).
