No sound MG3.0.68 FL Studio 25

No sound from MG2 or 3. Is there a video for MG3 and FL Studio 25? I’ve tried everything. I found one video, followed directions. No luck. I’ve used AI and have been working on this for a whole day almost. I’d describe it but I’ve done everything imaginable. Or someone tell me where a place describes the process step by step. Last year I had MG2 working perfectly but got a new computer and now no luck with it at all. Thanks for any help.

what os, which audio interface?

does mg2 or 3 work in standalone mode?

if on a mac check your mic permissions.

Windows 11, Focusrite Clarett 2Pre USB. I finally got MG2 working but the latency was so bad I gave up for now.

do you have any other music software running on the system with acceptable latency?

does your system use an ARM processor?

are you using the 3.07 version of the focusrite driver?

It never hurts to refresh this info for getting started with MG2/3.

Step 1: It is best to get MG2/3 up and running in standalone mode first. This is the easiest way to make sure you have all your ducks in a row in terms of basic signal flow, tracking and tweaking the application to get the results you want. Address key settings like sample rate, audio buffer, input gain, gate, pitch bend range, etc.

Note that if you’re using MG3, the MIDI type selection is critical, i.e. MPE or MIDI 1.0 (single channel or multichannel). Different plug-ins will require different selections, and the wrong choice could easily leave you with “no sound”.

Step 2: Use a virtual MIDI port from MG2/3 to transmit MIDI to your target DAW, host or hardware port. Virtually all of these targets will have similar systems, with minor variations, for selecting incoming MIDI ports. This is the simplest route for driving software instruments in the audio-MIDI environment because it removes potential DAW-specific quirks around internal audio and MIDI routing when using the plug-in versions of MG2/3.

Step 3: Once you are comfortable with steps 1 and 2, try using the plug-in versions of MIDI Guitar. If you’ve read other posts here, you’ll know that there are intricacies involved in configuring and using plug-ins in each and every DAW on the market — there is no one-size-fits-all system. But having progressed through the other steps, and with knowledge of how your DAW works, you should have a much clearer shot at routing success.

Of course, this is a general overview and there will be unique considerations depending on the operating system in use.

Another tip: when you ask for help here, it’s a really good idea to provide details on the specific use case. For example, the following comment provides virtually no useful information:

vs

“I finally got MIDI Guitar 2 working in standalone mode, but I cannot figure out how to adjust the latency to a comfortable playing feel.”

or

“I finally got MIDI Guitar 2 VST3 working in FL Studio 25, but I’m not sure how to adjust DAW latency to achieve a comfortable playing feel.”

My guess is that you are using an audio channel in FL Studio 25, with something like the following:

Mono guitar signal → MG2 or 3 → A or B, where:

A = a plug-in loaded inside the MG2/3 plug-in
B = a MIDI track with a synthesizer loaded

Both should be relatively simple, but if you are still having a problem after following the steps above, and checking on how your DAW specifically handles audio-MIDI routing, please provide details/screenshots of your MG2/3 config and relevant DAW settings.
