Here i am using the M1 synth inside of studio one. Midi guitar 3 with loopmidi as the midi output
I used this sound at my church since its Christmas
it sounded nice but the double triggers are hard not to notice. Which is why i was saying that’s one advantage a midi pickup or a roland hex pickup have. I’ve never owned a midi pickup but based on videos i’ve seen, that’s the case. I welcome input from anyone though and disagreements. That’s the purpose of the forum after all. Am i the only one having this problem?
I have always had much worse double triggering with Fishman Triple Play or Roland devices. I just pulled up the M1 on a instrument track in Pro Tools triggering it from the standalone MG3 (on a Mac) with no issues of double triggering. One thing I have noticed is that if the input gain is set too high, this can cause false triggering. I set my system lower and use the dynamics midi machine in MG3 if I need to trigger with higher velocity. I also use the volume control on my guitar as well as pickup selector to quickly change how velocity sensitive I can play certain instruments.
I guess this could be a Windows issue, maybe someone else can chime in here.
Yeah its probably windows. Because my input gain is at the original position in midi guitar 3 and im running raw guitar audio from my multi effects pedal which is the valeton gp200
How high is your input level meter hitting? I have mine hit about 2-3 o’clock. Input gain level in MP3 set to 6db and adjust interface input gain accordingly.
When i strum, it hits about 3-4.o clock
I’m not sure what else to suggest. On the Mac, MG3 just shows up as a core midi driver as we are not able to change the midi output from MG3. I don’t have any other experience with Windows or that interface. As I said before, hopefully someone with Windows knowledge can jump in here.
Since you reported in the other thread that you have CPU problems, I assume thats the issue and explains double triggering and other tracking issues.
It may be that your system is too slow, Did you check your DCP latency?
My system is definately not slow. I literally use this live as well. If it was slow, i wouldn’t be complaining about it here. I have an i5-10210U CPU.
Thats 11 or 12th gen @JamO
If we had more windows users that are testers, anyone will easily see that the software is very demanding using the loopmidi method. It was the same with Midi Guitar 2. If you arent using MPE then i guess that wouldn’t be a problem. But if you are messing around with MPE expect to have alot of problems
I didnt run any dpc latency test, but i play my guitar and mg3 at the same time, and its pretty much in sync. So if you are wondering if my pc is slow? Its not so we can rule that one out
