Omnisphere/Trillian Crashing MG3 (fixed)

MG3!

Even in the beta stage, this sorcery seems to handle everything I throw at it. Unfortunately, instruments from Spectrasonics like Omnisphere and Trillian are crashing MG3 on both Mac Studio and MacBook Pro.

I mention it not because I expect everything to work in this stage, but more of a helpful fyi to LoFiLeiF.

Thank you for this incredible tool!

By the way it works OK on windows

Hi Ryan!

Thanks for the heads up! It is indeed of great interest to me to know since I have considered Omnisphere myself, but lets also invite the actual developer of the software @JamO to put this to the the list of possibly incompatible third party plugins. :+1:

I am more than happy to help out with any software I already own or to doublecheck some freebies, but the Spectrasonics stuff is something of a commitment due to its price. And the fact that they don’t offer demos does not help, I think. :grinning:

Thank you for reporting.

Spectrasonics compatibility is already listed on the todo page, but I just specified its Mac specific.

Thank you, everyone!

Somehow NI’s “Reaktor 6” didn’t make it on the list. The GUI opens but as soon a instrument selection is made it crashes MG3 on both Mac and Win.

Hmm. I can make instrument selections, and play them. But it is when I have tried to save it to a patch and recall that patch it crashes here. (Reaktor 6 on Mac)

@ LoFiLeif

Maybe that’s again an VST2/3 or AU issue? I tried VST3 on Mac and Win, I’ll check the other plugin types later today and report back.

Reaktor 6 works on Mac with the saving-recall issue you mentioned, but not on Win.

Right, then we know what to put on the list! :+1:

Hi Alfredo! Thanks for your kind words and also for helping out with reporting. Have you tried Omnisphere directly in MG3 (in standalone mode) too?

Yes I try as soon I check the forum but I didn’t install the the last version because I have an important gig today and don’t want any risk on my live computer setup and scratch. I mean doesn’t work .
I use MG3 with flamenco (nylon ) guitar .
I’ll let you know this week when i install the last version if I have any changes but with Vienna Ensemble works perfectly.

FYI, just tried Omnishphere in 3.0.55 Mac beta and it is now working.
