Somewhat randomly ran across a YouTube clip from Dark Art Guitars in Switzerland, and had to gush a bit. David Wieland goes over a project he calls his “Masters Thesis”, but it might represent something a bit more significant than that. In sum: a matrix of individual pickups, eight per string in this case, and the electronics to manage and present it all for signal processing.

I would think this idea might be of great interest to Hex users, and frankly I’d love to see where the innovation might go. Inspiring!

Cool project. I also had it fed to me yesterday by the algorithm. I thought the most interesting part was how the builder interfaced the pickups with the audio interface/computer/custom plugin. But, installing 64 of the pickup blocks seems nonsensical to me.
